The Spanish air traffic control strike that threatened to delay flights to and from Gran Canaria airport on October 3rd has been cancelled.

Norwegian airlines flights between Mainland Spain and Gran Canaria, Tenerife & Fuerteventura start on October 25.

Despite silly newpaper headlines about "travel chaos", Spanish air traffic control strikes this week are largely symbolic and not expected to cause significant delays.

A green meteor streaked across the Gran Canaria sky on Sunday 8th March 2015 at 20.00, before landing just kilometres from the north coast.

Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria is the eighth best beach in Spain, according to the TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Awards.

Las Canteras was one of three Canary Islands beaches rounding out the Top Ten Spanish beaches. Papagayo in Lanzarote came ninth and Cofete in Fuerteventura was tenth.
