Most of these photos were taken during December 2015: An exceptionally sunny month all over Gran Canaria. While south Gran Canaria and its resorts are sunny most days in December, the north is cloudier. Gran Canaria does get a few days of December rain most years, but the rainy spells only last a couple of days and then the sun comes out again.
Blue skies are standard on Maspalomas beach in December
As is sitting out for a drink at sunset
Although we do get the odd day of calima with dust in the air
And even a few days of cloud and rain
Most days in Gran Canaria, and especially south Gran Canaria, look like this

In mild years, such as 2015, the almond blossom doesn't even wait for the New Year
Every year, Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas hosts the world's biggest sand nativity scene; Definitely worth a visit
The north coast of Gran Canaria is a great place to go surfing in December
With the skies normally clear of dust, the views of Teide volcano on Tenerife are epic
