The Azores anticyclone has moved east and is now sitting over Spain. This causes a clockwise flow of air down over North Africa and then west towards the Canary Islands.
The upshot is warm, dusty air over the Canary Islands from today until at least Thursday. The Spanish weather service has issued an aviso for dust in the air in south Gran Canaria for Tuesday evening; This happens when it expects visibility to be below 3000 metres. We're not sure how much dust will arrive yet, but it will be enough to jazz up the sunsets and lighten the sky.
Expect temperatures to peak in the high 20s and be above 20ºC at night. The sea temperature this week is 22.5ºC.
Surfers; Get in the water today or Tuesday morning as things look pretty flat towards the end of the week.
