Expect cloud all over the island with scattered showers and even hail. The north will be wetter than the south.
Yesterday was one of the coldest days in Gran Canaria in living memory with Las Palmas dropping to 11ºC at sea level and 6ºC in Agüimes.
The snow is set to keep falling today and up to 4cm could accumulate right at the top of the island.
Saturday will be similar although with less chance of snow.
Be careful if you head up into the mountains to see the snow as some roads are cut off.
By Sunday, the first rays of sun should break through in south Gran Canaria and by midweek, the weather is expected to return to normal.
