The first wave of bad weather from the low-pressure system to the north of Gran Canaria is pretty much over so we can expect a largely sunny weekend, although we can't rule out the odd shower.
The wind will drop away during Saturday morning.
The resorts in the south could cloud over in the afternoons and you may even get a spot of rain. This is just standard autumn weather.
A second front could well sweep in from the north late on Sunday bringing wind and showers. It would affect the north of the island much more than the south.
It is over 23ºC at dawn today (Saturday) so expect temperatures up to 30ºC and a fair bit of humidity.
There have been strong waves around the Canaries (especially at Arrecife in Lanzarote) so please keep an eye on the sea and stay away from rocky shores if it gets rough.
As for next week, everything depends on what the low-pressure system does. If it moves back towards the Canary Islands, then we get more cloud and rain. If it continues to move northeast towards Spain, then we get sunshine.
Our money's on the sunny.
Yesterday in Gran Canaria
