There's a big weather system in the Atlantic but the Canary Islands are only getting the tail end of it. However, that's enough to send some real weather our way.

Saturday will get cloudier and windier as the day goes on with the rain due to start properly in the afternoon. It won't be that strong but will go on into the night. 

Gran Canaria will also get windier throughout the day and tonight could well be a howler, especially in west and south-west Gran Canaria. The southern half of Gran Canaria is currently on alert for strong winds. 

La Palma island, where the alert is orange, is getting this weather front before Gran Canaria and has already registered winds of over 100kmph.

The cloud and wind should fade away during Sunday.
