The wind is due to shift to the north this afternoon and will bring typical winter weather to Gran Canaria this week. 

That's sunshine and calm in the south and the resorts, mixed clouds and sunshine in the highlands, and variable amounts of cloud and the odd shower along the north coast. 

The change in wind will also flip the ocean conditions back to typical winter fare; calm in the south and surfy in the north. 

Expect temperatures of 25ºC in south Gran Canaria this week along with plenty of blue sky. The north will be cooler, but should still get decent periods of sunshine.

The highlands will be warm in the sun and cold in the cloud. Take layers if you go up.
